Playing at Canadian Music Fest 2011

Since their debut in 2005 these five cosmo-rockers have made regular concert appearances and recordings (their song Face to face also featured in the Djinn advertisement by Orange). Under the influence of brit-pop, the band released its first EP in 2009 with the same inspirations that have moved them since their formation: the passion for melody, the energy of sound, the rush of shared experience on stage. The spaceship NineteenSeventyNine makes its way through a romantic, melancholic and mellow universe… Ever heard of "moon-rock"?

The French sextet originated from the centre France (Orleans) has been developing an intrigant universe for the last 10 years. From classical music influences to jazzy vibrations, the band takes on the energy of true rock to deliver frantic (french-spoken) songs and live experiences.Cascades of notes, emerging from saxophones, guitars, accordion, drums and bass lines, flood around Valerian Renault's voice and words, then poetry confronts and battle-rhymes with silliness, life and accidentally... love.

Rolling Stone (USA)

Mercadonegro (Switzerland / salsa, latin-jazz)
Booking: world
All year
Myspace - Facebook - Video
They met in Europe by coincidence, but it was the love of Latin American rhythms that brought together the members of the project Mercadonegro. The orchestra plays indomitable and hot salsa but is certainly not afraid of including elements from Latin-jazz, son and rap when the temperature needs to be risen to its highest. The band has previously played with Carlos Santana and been a regular backing band for Celia Cruz. But here the music is on the band's own terms and only gets better. Expect a full dance floor with oozing and sweaty Latin club atmosphere when Mercadonegro plays its red-hot music.
Featuring guests: Tito Nieves, Jose Alberto 'El Canario', Alfredo De La Fe, Frankie Morales, Jimmy Bosch, Willie Gonzalez, Cheo Feliciano.

Invités: Michael Red (DJ), Jean Martin (batterie+fx), Jesse Zubot (violon+fx).
Duo vocal contemporain avec Aymeric Hainaux.

ZE BROWN (Brazil / hip-hop, repente)
Booking: Europe
On tour with Skowa from Trio Mocotó: 06 + 07.2012
Videos - Reverbnation - Facebook
"Long before rap’s existence, the repente, a call-and-response singing, was already there in Brazil’s sertão or arid backcountry. In short, those were battles between speakers, a tradition that Zé Brown collects from Recife. At côco’s rhythm, with a pandeiro and a bass, he answers to his guest, Castanha (from the successful rural couple Cajú & Castanha), in hip-hop terms. His album, entitled “Repente, rap, repente” and produced by Skowa (from Trio Mocotó), is the trace of union between two worlds (city and country) and two Americas." Rémy Kolpa Kopoul
